Insitec T

The Insitec T particle size analyzer is designed to measure:

Solid particulates suspended in gas process stream

Automatic on-line continuous, or at-line manual

  Static installation

Real-time particle size analyzer based on laser diffraction 0.1 to 1000µm

Designed for real-time measurement of dry powders in hygienic applications e.g. pharmaceutical and foodstuffs, and those requiring ease of cleaning e.g. powder coatings. The Insitec T is manufactured to GAMP4 standards. The hardware is designed to be compatible with CIP and SIP requirements.
The Insitec T is designed for real-time measurement of dry powders in hygienic applications.
Laser Diffraction
The particle size analysis is performed using industry standard laser diffraction.

Process Interface
The Insitec uses a modular system for connection to many different process streams.

Automation & control
The automation of the analyzer system and connection to the plant control system is facilitated via Malvern Link, a flexible approach accepting custom user interfaces, and a variety of PLC communication protocols

Solutions
The analyzer system has been proven in a variety of different industrial applications, from cement to pharmaceuticals.

Summary

The configuration can be specified to suit particular applications, however the base system is configured as follows:

General

Intrinsic safety

None

Analyzer
  • IP66 rated optical sensor comprising solid state laser diode, multi-element detector, high speed parallel processor, process sample flow cell, communications interface and interconnecting cables (150m). Range of fixed optical arrangements available, allowing different size ranges to be measured
  • Flow cell suitable for inline or bypass eductor configurations, with range of path lengths for compatibility with process lines and particulate loading. The flow cell comprises the central region of the instrument containing the sample measurement zone.
  • Triclamp assembly of optical components for simplified maintenance.
  • The cell windows are purged with dry clean air to protect them from contamination.
  • The flow cell is made of 316L stainless steel. Sample measurement zone and flow path are of seamless construction to comply with cGMP requirements. All seals are rated to IP66.
  • Process connection via tri-clamp fittings to BS4825
Installation

Static unit - Fit to pipe or frame close by to sampling points

Process Interface Kit Standard on every system:
  • Dispersion provided by 90° Stainless Steel Venturi Eductor
(alternate dispersion systems available as options)
  • 80cm Stainless Steel test flute with pre-drilled holes to allow rapid optimization of probe configuration.
  • 2 meters flexible inlet pipe
  • 2 meters flexible outlet pipe
  • 3 fixed sampling point flanges + 80 cm standard flutes
Standard system only:
  • Inlet and outlet ball valves with triclamp fittings (Manual)
Automation option:
